Nobody has the right to meddle in somebody's personal decision to die. It is their life, their right to die with dignity. Anyone who wants to interfere should first spent 24x7 time for a couple of months in a hospice, taking care, and making somebody comfortable. Cleaning-up the feces and urine, washing the patient, and changing the bed and clothing. Then, after having shown the physical will to do that, one maybe have the right to act high and mighty and force someone to live a life in missery against their will. It is usually the "talk" and not the "walk" that motivates the right to life movement.
I feel that it is only me,and only me, that can decide if I want to live or die.

Richard, maybe you wouldn't want to be taken care of, but perhaps Terri does. I don't know if she does want to live, and neither do you. It's best to let her try. She does not appear to be in any severe physical pain.

ryan, Terri can't "try" and doesn't "know" a damn thing because what's left of her brain is only capable of keeping her heart pumping and her lungs breathing, with a muscle twitch now and then. Her huband (the legal next-of-kin) and others (not including her sadly delusional parents, obviously) have already proven in state court that she would not want to "live" like this.

The only 'proof' offered of her 'wish to die' comes from Mike and his siblings. Mike 'magically' remembered this AFTER he had won big $$ in the malpractice trial. Stop getting all your info from CNN or the NYT. The parents are NOT 'delusional', watch the videos and read the doctor's affidavits on their site terrisfight.org. Don't opine when you don't know what you're talking about.

How is it that the nurses who did care for her (in the past) are not being heard? I believe their testimonies are very credible. Micheal Schiavo is not as caring as someone would suspect. He did not want her to get well. That why she is in her predicament, Micheal bullied everyone around him. She needed help and he used the Law in a most horrific manner to stop her from getting help. How can you stand by that? That is why I believe their is more to this story and it needs to come out. We need to investigate these charges then decide. And that would be the most fair and honest way to do it, for any person.
