Robert Byrd Moonbat, West Virginia, continued today to try and embarass his fellow Democrat Senators with a tirade about Nazis behind every curtain. Senator Kennedy attempted to endorse the speech, but was unable to be roused from his stupor. Senator Boxer was heard to exclaim "You Go Girl!"

Sen. Byrd is in the senate for one reason, to return to the state of West Virginia as much federal money as possible. If one took the time to examine the amount of federal dollars directed to WV and compared it to the population, the amount would be staggering. Sen. Byrd has enamored himself of his constituents through good old fashioned pork barrel politics. Regrettably, his presence in the senate has devolved into that of bitter luddite. It is unlikely that the people of WV will trade in their golden goose for a legislator with a more pristine pedigree.

I have followed Robert Byrd's career with disgust and disappointment for many years. When it comes to vituperation and hypocrisy, he has no equal. Not only does this formwer Klansman and anti-civil rights activist have the gaul to compare a major political party to fascists (when he himself would seem to fit that bill) but he is also one of the biggest and most flagrant pork-barrel politicians in the Senate. I would like to see how many publicly funded "projects" in West Virginia bear his name.

Well Frank, There is the Robert C. Byrd Turnpike, the Robert C. Byrd Bridge, a couple of Robert C. Byrd schools, the Robert C. Byrd Small Business Administration Center, and of course the Robert C. Byrd Aquaculture farm. I think we West Virginians may change our state's name to the West Byrdland at some point. Our porky senator is a sugar daddy who vainly splashes his name everywhere.

Speaking from WV, its hard to turn around without stepping onto or into something with Rober C. Byrd'c name splashed on it. There's Byrd bridges, buildings, schools, "centers" of all types and sizes, libraries, roads, parks, etc. etc. etc.. Heck, I'm waiting to run across a Robert C. Byrd porta-potty one of these days. His vanity is unsurpassed.

Yet, what has it goten the state of WV? Well, look at the statistics. Our schools are among the worst in the country, we have crumbling infrastructure, our young people are leaving in droves, there's a net outflow of jobs and our economy is in shambles.

So Senator, with all due respect, thanks but no thanks. I'd much rather see you spending your political capital on cleaning the regulatory and judicial systems in the state, cleaning out the old-time political patronage "system" so rampant in the state (a corrupt one that serves the politicians involved, not the people) and generally giving people the means to generate income and wealth for themselves.

This state has so much to offer but has been hindered by political patrons of your ilk for so long. Keep your bridges, Senator, if that's the price we pay for our freedom and future.
