Just when you think Democrats have touched bottom they do this:
Minority Leader Harry Reid strayed from his prepared remarks on the Senate floor yesterday and promised to continue opposing one of President Bush's judicial nominees based on "a problem" he said is in the nominee's "confidential report from the FBI." ...
"Henry Saad would have been filibustered anyway," Mr. Reid said on the floor yesterday, about the Michigan Appeals Court judge who is nominated to the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 6th Circuit.
"All you need to do is have a member go upstairs and look at his confidential report from the FBI, and I think we would all agree that there is a problem there," Mr. Reid continued.
So, Reid throws this out there knowing it will get some play. Knowing the media and public can't see the FBI report to confirm or deny. Knowing this can't be refuted. This isn't just character assassination... It's assassination done from a cowardly shadow with the victim's back to you.
This is what a disgusting bunch the Democrats have become. This is what the Democrats have allowed their frustration with Bush to turn them into. Hate's a poison you take yourself and it's made these people sick. Their party is near dead and yet they keep gulping from the bottle.
It should be interesting to see how this plays in the media. Had a Republican done this the liberal media would be out trying to embarrass and discredit him. They would be asking for separate confirmation from other Republicans hoping it wouldn't come. In other words: doing their job.
Will they do that to Reid? I'll let you know when the monkeys start flying out of my butt.
UPDATE: Lorie Byrd asks, Can You Imagine What Must Be In Teddy’s FBI File?
For any liberal readers who think I am going a bit overboard, I wonder what you would have been saying if Bill Frist had referred to something in the confidential FBI file of Harry Reid (or any other Democrat) on the floor of the Senate. If Democrats now believe confidential FBI files are fair game, then this could get fun. Can you imagine what must be in Ted Kennedy’s file?
Needless to say, if a Republican Senator had pulled this kind of stunt, the ACLU and privocrats would be screaming bloody hell.
Indeed.
THE DEMOCRATS OUGHT RENAME THEMSELVES AS THE "INTERNATIONAL SOCIALIST PARTY." THAT'S WHAT THEY ARE SO WHY NOT CHANGE THEIR NAME FOR THEM?
BTW, TIME ONCE AGAIN TO GET OUT OF THE DISUNITED NATIONS WHICH IS ONLY UNITED WHEN THOSE DIRTBALL COUNTRIES VOTE AGAINST US.

Levin and Stabenow testified Thursday during the private meeting. They said before the meeting that they would discuss information from Saad's FBI background check that raised doubts about his ability to serve, but they wouldn't elaborate. One topic that was expected to be discussed was an e-mail message Saad sent to a friend last fall that was inadvertently sent to Stabenow. In the message, Saad said Stabenow was 'abusing the system and undermining the constitutional process' by opposing his nomination. He added, "perhaps someday she will pay the price for her misconduct.' The e-mail has been released before, but Democratic staffers released it again Thursday. Hatch said after the meeting that no new charges were levied against Saad. 'The allegations were pro and con, but mostly pro,' Hatch said.
