Jackson's Junction: Video Blogging...
Col. Oliver North, reporting from Iraq, was on Hannity and Colmes and was asked about the News-Weak scandal.
North: "Newsweek is not doing them [troops] any favors."
It's the troops who are most affected by this type of false reporting. We may get angry at home about these things, but our troops are putting their lives on the line everyday so News-Weak can undermine their efforts and put them in harm's way. Shame.

It was Bill Press on the previous show that had made the comment about Newsweak reporting the story. Press tossed off a comment that 'it could have happened' and immediately they went on to something else. But the point is IT HAS NEVER HAPPENED OR BEEN PROVED TO HAVE HAPPENED BEFORE. SO WHY DO WE ASSUME IT'S GOING TO HAPPEN OR MIGHT HAVE HAPPENED? This story is 'crazy-making'. I've been so angry all day I can't count the emails I've fired off to various MSM outlets.

I hear that pages of the Koran were stufed down the toilet, but that it was a Muslim detainee staging a protest. There was another report that interrogators were lifting the Koran above their heads, but nothing like flushing.
The Newsweek source apparently saw both reports and either mixed them or Newsweek blurred them and got it wrong.
I really don't give a damn what went wrong. Newsweek finally retracted, but said on ABC that they feel their people did everything right. My jaw dropped.
Anything bad gets a lot of energy around major media outlets. It's as if they want America to get smacked down.
Lock me, Isikoff and his smartass editor Evan Thomas in a room for 5 minutes.
We'll come out with the issue resolved.
