Video-Liberal crackpot o' the day: Bill Press
Jackson's Junction: Video blogging...
Bill Press appeared on Hannity and Colmes along with Brent Bozell to discuss the Newsweak scandal. Just about everything that came out of Press's mouth during this segment would qualify as 'liberal crackpotery', so I was forced to choose.
Yes, Press compared the Newsweak scandal to Abu Ghraib.
Yes, Press compared the Newsweak scandal to the war in Iraq.
But this comment I could not let go:
Press: "It would be naive to deny that it could have happened."
The level of criteria for journalist to go to print has just hit rock-bottom. 'It could have happened, so I reported it as if it did'.
This is the statement that Col. Oliver North immediately pointed out when he was interviewed. You can see that here.

Bill Press is amusing to say the least. But to in any way state that Newsweek's publishing of an erroneous article as "just a mistake" and then for Bill Press to sit there and try to justify it by stating 'It could have happened' is just plain wrong and in no way justifies, in this reader's eyes, Newsweek's error and it is not excusable in that sense. I mean, hey, it is possible for me to also ram Boeing 747's into some well-known US landmarks like bin-Laden's little slaves did. Sure 'it could have happened', hell anything is possible if the right reasons, atmosphere and ingredients for such an occurance to take place were all present. But unless this is what REALLY happened and not relying on hearsy and speculation and theory, like mainstream America does and Democrats do, it is not fact and should never be regarded as such in the first place. This Bill Press used his time on FNC just to bash FNC for being Conservative...maybe he should have saved his breath and not get laughed at on National TV and go to the liberal propaganda machine that is the New York Times and whined to them about his problems. NYT has their ears open for anythign stupid these days and since they are notorious for taking the liberal side of thengs even when liberals are acknowledged to be in the wrong, they will still side with the Left. Get the hint, Bill Press, you weren't asked about what your emotions were about FNC's conservative support. Geez, can't Liberals ever stay on topic or is it ingrained in leftists to dodge anything they feel they have no rebuttal or cannot refute or prove? No wonder Democraps (sic) continue their losses. They cannot decide (hears John Kerry Syndrome taking it's latest toll on another lefty). Wake up leftists.

I really had to laugh when Press said that the media has been a "puppy dog for Bush since the very beginning." You have to wonder if he was kidding, but it was clear that he wasn't. That's just plain scary. The media has savaged Bush since the start of it all, but clearly Press lives in lala land where everything is just the opposite!

the inhabitants of bizarro world need to be identified so that when they speak we immediately know that 1)the opposite of what they say is actually the way things are and 2) whomever they are criticizing is given instant credibility--
of course, it's not too hard to pick them out--
