Video: Connelly - "Close to 100"
Connelly: "There have been many homicides of prisoners."
You can watch the video HERE.
Connolly: There have been many homicides of prisoners.
Hume: How many?
Connolly: I believe close to 100.
Hume: A hundred murders?
Connolly: Homicides around the world. In Afghanistan. In Iraq. That have come through Pentagon investigations.
What bothered GP and me the most was no one challenged this leftist hogwash. Everyone acts surprised, but no one says: "That is not true!"
Gateway Pundit finds the real number is 27 and adds:
Need I say this? Go read the whole thing!! HERE.
Update: Michelle Malkin spoke with Ceci this morning. I highly recommend you go read her article "A reckless charge against the military...in an unexpected place."
Update II: Hume issues correction. Video Here.
This segment was aired on Fox News Special Report with Brit Hume.
Update: The Gateway Pundit says he's still investigating, that he thinks the number of 27 is still to high. Stay tuned.
Note: This post has been updated.
The left lies so much I'm sure this doozy left them speechless. What can you do but shake your head?

Does anyone know the SNL skit, Debbie Downer? Cici is definately Debbie Downer.
She never has anything nice to say, and even when she's trying to say something nice she couches it with a negative.

I wish Cici was right on this. In fact, I wish the homicide number was more in the line of about 100,000.

Check out the transcipt Mr Schutlz on Fox News Sunday. I He himself said 27!
Question: Where is the systematic torture at Guantanamo Bay?
SCHULZ: Well, it's quite interesting. You just said according to the Pentagon. And the Pentagon and the U.S. government have systematically precluded independent human rights groups from getting that answered.
Now, what we do know is that FBI agents themselves raised concerns about people being held in stress positions for up to 24 hours. What we do know is that a Kentucky National Guardsman testified to prisoners have their heads slammed against the wall. What we do know is that the International Red Cross protested prolonged sleep deprivation there.
Now, we don't know the full extent of the mistreatment there. We know that in other U.S. detention facilities, there has been profound mistreatment, including 27 homicides ruled by medical examiners to be inflicted homicides.
So we don't know for sure what all is happening at Guantanamo, and our whole point is that the United States ought to allow independent human rights organizations to investigate just as Sudan, Pakistan, and many other environments around the world...

Ms. Connolly has demonstrated, a sad inability to be objective. I enjoy the panel, and encourage opposing insight, but she is rarely of interest. She should work directly for the DNC, for her partisan bias is tired.
Earlier on the program, she began the folly, by suggesting 'Gitmo' builds recruitment for Terrorists. A completely baseless claim...
On top of her BIG LIE about homicides, Connolly again revealed an inability to grasp proportion and context. When she tried to ridicule the Sec. of Defense, she admitted to Mr. Barnes, that Sec. Rumsfield is right, the USA is Liberating Millions of human beings. As if the Liberation of Millions, is not more important, (or a more powerful image), than a few misguided fools, making some killers were underwear. (Or a book, getting a little wet...)
It seems to be a typical denial, a political blindness, created by this liberal bias. If a Democrat were President, she would only focus on the amazing Liberation, of the Millions of Oppressed, in Iraq and Afghanistan...

It seems that only reporters have the right to slander, libel and defame someone else. Especially the military. DUH. We are in a war, conflict
This reporter seems to be worrried about the deaths caused in these conflicts and fails to mention the rapes, tourture and murder by Sadam Husien. I am not a die hard conserative but I'd like these reporters to give me a break! They rank lower than used car salesmen and politicans and they wish to lecture to me????

One of the frustrations of actually being in Iraq is seeing the difference between the situation on the ground and the fantasies spun by our media. This is up there with Eason Jordan's idiotic comment about us targeting reporters, when it's obvious to any objective observer that they are targeting us. Their weapon of choice is the enemy's propaganda, which they present as facts. Then they talk about our difficulties winning hearts and minds. Where's the House Un-American Activities Committee when you need it?

I was as flabbergasted as Brit Hume when I heard Connelly make her false claim. Unfortunately, Brit is too much of a professional to challenge her without the FACTS himself, and is handicapped by being too much of a gentleman to call her bluff - and she was bluffing!

What is up with CiCi's smile? My apology if she is a recovering stroke victim, but the left side of her mouth is 2 inches higher than the right... a permanent sneer? My brother pointed out that she does a warm up, before she breaks into her 'fabrications'.

Conelly has this smug self righteous myopia that is simply stunning. Barnes did bring her to the reality of the bigger picture but she was not happy in having to admit he was right.
Unfortunately what was not asked of Ms. Conelly was how many prisoners in US hands have been be-headed? How many have been put on the MSM to beg for their lives? How many have had their governments pay millions in ransom to get back. When we want to release one, their own countries want nothing to do with them.
I wonder sometimes whether someone can actually be so stupid or are they just reading a token liberal script for pay?
Posted by: vile nylons | June 07, 2005 at 08:49 AM
Why is nothing being said about the lack of prison camps for US or coalition troops? If a soldier is unfortunate enough to be taken prisoner, he or she will be publicly executed online. Where is Ms. Conelly when it comes to mistreatment of the troops fighting the war on terror? Where are the terrorist gulags? These people are inhuman and deserve to be treated as such. You cannot hug a man-eating lion until it no longer thinks of you as food!

I think she was confusing "deaths in custody" (more than 100) with "homicides" (not even close to 100).

I wish one, or more, of the bloggers would get on Fox News, and ask them to either retract the 100 number or confirm it. The bloggosphere did this for the Newsweek story.

Boy Michael
I agree, I love the panel discussion. You've got a centrist Republican in Brit Hume, a centrist democrat in Mort Kondracke, and then a real conservative in either Barnes, Krauthammer, or Kristol, and then a left wing nut job in either Connolly, Williams, or my favorite Mara Liasson. I think Mara is the only clear thinking lefty on the show. The other two are DU or Daily Kos clones.

Well said Capitalist Infidel...
I feel the recent addition of Ms. Easton, was worthwhile, for she tries to have an objective sense as well (with her liberal lean).
It is amazing to see how rational the Conservatives are, and how accurate their insight turns out to be, compared to the liberal input, (who seem to be proven wrong most of the time).
Will Ms. Connolly apologize? Or support her outrageous claim? Or will it all be ignored?

I am thinking she forgot to take her medication! That picture of her at WILLisms.com kind of looks like she is confused. Poor pitiful thing...

Sorry I was confused! You have the same picture that Will has. Doesn't she look a little sick?
Posted by: Zsa zsa | June 07, 2005 at 09:27 PM
OH MY GOSH! She is really full of it! Thanks for the video! I don't understand how she can get away with that BS...

My husband has banned Ceci from our house so we don't have to suffer her dreary droning anymore. Never has anyone so relentlessly looked for the cloud in every silver lining. However, I agree with the commenter above -- more like 100,000 deaths would work for me.
