KILL TAXPAYER PBS FUNDING
Pamela aka Atlas thinks the CATO Institute explains most pragmatically and logically why public funding must end. I think it's a joke that with over 800 channels, why would we need to subsidize any TV channel (diversity? c'mon).
Back in the day of 7 or 8 channels, well that was one thing.
Today, any other real public service coverage is more than covered by the cspan channels, thank you.
And frankly on a personal note, I am sick and tired of my hard earned taxpayer dollars supporting lefty liberal bile.
PBS Funding: Time to Cut the Apron Strings
"Public broadcasting executives are scheduled to defend their funding
Monday, when the Senate Appropriations Committee begins to decide how much money the Corporation for Public Broadcasting should be allotted," reports The Washington Post. In his testimony today before the Senate Appropriations Subcommittee on Labor, Health and Human Services, Cato's executive vice president David Boaz states: "We wouldn't want the federal government to publish a national newspaper. Neither should we have a government television network and a government radio network. If anything should be kept separate from government and politics, it's the news and public affairs programming that informs Americans about government and its policies."
and don't forget this little pearl of truth:
On Tuesday July 20, 1999, the House Subcommittee on Telecommunications held a hearing to examine charges that some PBS and NPR stations improperly traded, rented or swapped donor lists with political organizations.
And Trey, not to worry, I got your back.
