We Must Fight Militant Islam

What America Must Do Right Now To Protect Itself From Militant Islam Dr. Harvey Kushner The rules changed on September 11, 2001. It was Militant Islam's signal that from that day on, weapons of terror, including weapons of mass destruction, could and would be used, and that the fight is to the death. America cannot wait for Militant Islam to secure itself from what will surely be our massive reaction to their next attack. This is what we have to do: Stop fighting the Holy War with methods that worked to keep the Soviets at bay; stop our enemy from using our constitutional rights to shield itself; secure our borders from constant penetration; make sure that none of the millions of ocean cargo containers coming into the United States contains a weapon of mass destruction; and hold our elected officials to one simple unambiguous standard-results. For those who lost loved ones in the tragic events of 9/11, take some consolation in the knowledge that their sacrifice was not in vain, had 9/11 not alerted America to the terrorists within it, had they waited just a few more years, the secret Islamic terror network would have reached its goal: America riddled with a fully operational terrorist infrastructure, an environment where Islamic network agents' homes held nuclear and biological weapons instead of guns, and enough radical Muslim operatives and traitors to undermine this country from within-and they may be closer to it than we think. We hope a terrorist attack won't happen again-that we'll never have to go through anything like 9/11 again. Yet, we've let our guard down in the years since 9/11. We can't let the memory of that day fade-it must always be present to strengthen our resolve. There is the Buddhist parable of three blind men asked to describe an object by touch. It is a elephant, but the blind man holding the tail says it's a snake, the man holding the trunk says it's a giraffe, and the one holding the leg says it's a tree stump. None could assemble the "whole" from its separate "pieces." In the same way, it's time we stopped allowing the whole of Islam's Holy War on America to be described by politicians, journalists, and others familiar with only part of it. The only explanation as to why we continue to ignore the threat of Militant Islam in America is that the demands of political correctness have made us so afraid of being branded racists that we force ourselves to be color blind, identity blind, and gender blind till we end up, quite simply, totally blind. The Holy War on our home front is the first war in almost 150 years that America will have to fight on its own soil.
