Bush Confident Warrantless Wiretaps Legal, btw me too. The New York Times, not the Bush administration, has broken the law protecting our nation's security, violating U.S. Code Title 18, Part I, Chapter 37, Section 798, pertaining to the illegal release of national-security information.
The Times' revelation of the NSA surveillance program was, to be sure, an obvious attempt to stymie renewal of the USA Patriot Act in the Senate and to heighten interest in Times reporter James Risen's soon-to-be-released book And the Democrats were all over it like sharks on chum.
"Lemmings have unity -- right over the cliff." -- Rep. Jeff Flake, an Arizona Republican, responding to criticism that his lampooning of Congressional pork-barrel earmarks could hurt Republicans at the polls in 2006 but frankly I think it's the perfect quote for the Democrat's position on everything - Alito, al qaida wiretapping, the war on terror, taxes...............

UPDATE: Further proof of buffoonery; CNN reported late this afternoon that Sen.
John Kerry said he supports a filibuster against Judge Alito. Kerry however
was
not able to grace the Senate with his presence during today’s hearings, as he is
in Switzerland. Just for knowing, Alito's got enough votes for confirmation but what does that matter or that Alito is eminently qualified. Oh, it gets better, "Splash" Kennedy is his partner in crime. You can't make this stuff up.

Democrats are stranger than fiction. Another case in point? Pelosi's pre buttal (huh?) here. Sounds like Pelosi needs a proctologist.
How about the Democrats (the party of CAIR) obstructing the renewal of the Patriot act. Here's a clip s howing Sen. Harry Reid bragging “we killed the PATRIOT Act.” here

Ray Nagin: "It's a dirty
job, but I've never shunned my duties as a Democratic
mayor."
